Welcome — we’re glad you’re here! Whitetail Hollow Farms is real farmstead life from the Florida Panhandle: animals, gardens, projects, and the systems that keep it all moving. We’ve been building our 45-acre farmstead since 2012, so what you’ll find here is tested, lived, and learned the hard (way more than once). Practical guides, honest updates, and resources we actually use - no fluff, no “perfect farm” highlight reels, and zero clickbait.

Pick what brought you here and we’ll take you straight to it.

What is a Farmstead?

A farmstead is more than just a farm—it blends the working side of raising animals and growing food with the home-and-lifestyle side of a homestead. It’s not a big ranch operation, and it’s not “just a garden,” either. A farmstead is where daily life and land stewardship are connected: the chores, the systems, the seasons, and the home all work together.

What you’ll find at Whitetail Hollow Farms

  • Real-life farmstead content: what’s working, what’s not, and what we’re learning

  • Animals: emus, dairy goats, dairy cows, poultry, American guinea hogs, mini-mules, our Kangal Dog, Addie, and our whitetail deer, Willow

  • Seasonal projects: garden, pasture, infrastructure, and farm systems

  • Practical guides + resources: checklists, logs, and simple printables we actually use

Where we're located

We’re in the Florida Panhandle near the Georgia line - 10 minutes northwest of Havana, FL, about halfway between Tallahassee and Bainbridge, GA. We have a thin, sandy topsoil that drains quickly into red clay, a shallow water table (often 3–6 feet depending on the season), and weather that can be extreme (7 inches of snow in January 2025). And right now? We’re in an exceptional drought, so everything we share is built on real-world conditions, not theory.

What we’re building here (so you know what to expect)

Whitetail Hollow Farms is growing in public... meaning we share what we’re learning as we build systems, improve the property, and keep animals healthy and productive. You’ll see practical content that’s tested in real conditions, plus updates from the farm as seasons change. Over time, we’re also building our Farmsteader's Academy - a paid online and in-person education space for deeper training and support. For now, the blog + newsletter are where we publish answers and resources.
